These are a few pictures from the restaurant I worked at while living in Chicago. The restaurant is Le Bouchon, and they serve French inspired foods. I don't think there was one thing on the menu that I didn't enjoy! If you are ever in Chicago, check them out.

This was my little corner in the kitchen. I worked saute and also helped with the garde manger (cold bar) when needed.

Some of the prep work I did before service. These onions are for the French Onion Soup. I would usually have to cut up around 20 or more! And yes, they did make me cry a lot.

This is my AeroGarden. My friends make fun of it, but I love it. It's nice to always have fresh herbs when cooking. I have Basil plants in there at the moment. I actually purchased them for only $3 and on the package it said they needed to be used within a week or they would die. Well, I just put them in my AeroGarden and they are still growing. I've had them in there for almost 1 month now!

I found this jar of cactus at Big Lots of all places, and paid only $1 for it. I have NO CLUE what I will do with it yet, but I'm thinking maybe some sort of cheese dip. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

This is ravioli I made a while back. The dough I made from a jar of roasted red peppers that I pureed and mixed in with the other ingredients. For the stuffing, I used a combination of Italian herbs, ground pork and ricotta cheese. They took some time to make by hand, but come time to eat, it was well worth it. All I did with them was cook the ravioli for 3-4 minutes in boiling water, and then I transferred them to a saute pan and cooked them a bit longer in brown butter.
